Senior Software Engineer – Elixir/Ruby/React (open to remote)

Your Opportunity The Commerce team enables our customers to purchase the New Relic platform with ease and delight!

We are looking for a great Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer to join us in transforming our buying platform.

Help us scale our self-serve B2B software, driving revenue and direct business growth.

Our stack is primarily Elixir, Ruby, and React.

If you join this team, you will be passionate about core areas of commerce: * The Delightful Customer Experience.

* Check-out: We are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the buying process.

* Data Analysis: We want to ask the right questions about what drives our customers, what products they need, and make intelligent product recommendations.

Opportunity to work from a remote office may be available depending on applicant location.

What You’ll Do * Reviews of your peers’ code with an eye towards code quality and overall architectural soundness.

* Collaborate with the team to break down projects into engineering tasks for each sprint.

* Identify blockers and work across teams to resolve issues.

* Provide insight about tech debt to influence the roadmap.

* Build new features and design their systems architecture!

* Mentor other engineers on the team, and feel passionate about improving software by constant iteration with your team.

* Actively drive continuous engineering excellence.

Your Qualifications * You have at least 5 years of industry experience working in a team environment, building production applications with a modern OO language such as Python or Ruby, or a modern functional language like Elixir.

* Have built single-page applications using a modern Javascript framework such as AngularJS or React.

* Have used modern backend frameworks, such as Rails, Laravel, Django, or Flask.

* Understand both how to write tests and the value of automated testing –
– You want good test coverage.

* Have strong opinions, but weakly held.

You can easily disregard prior held biases and opinions in the face of new information and use cases.
