What you’ll achieve

As a Sr Software Principal Engineer you will be combining your software and systems engineering expertise to manage some of the most complex environments of our customers. You will be working in a newly built cloud platform to support all Dell as-a-service customers. 

 You will:

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.  
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.  
• Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity. 
• Manage complex environments including VMware Suite of products including vRA suite and vSphere ESXi, Service Now, Splunk and OpsRamp

Essential Requirements 

• 8+ years experience and BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience  
• 5 years’ experience in the IT field focusing on development projects and DevOps and/or 4 years of Hands on Experience with DevOps, IaC, algorithms, software development.  

• Hands on Experience in at least two or more of the following: Powershell, BashJava, Python, Go, Ruby,Terraform or Ansible (AWX). 
• In depth understanding of Microservice Architecture and REST based  implementation of APIs 
• Hands on Experience with container orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes), Cloud Provider APIs, SNOW, Splunk, OpsRamp, VMWare Suite of products including vRA suite and vSphere ESXi. 
• Experience in Architecting end to end Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment solution using popular Platforms like Jenkins or GitLab. 

Desirable Requirements 

• Proven experience in Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills, drive and a sense of ownership, AiOPS experience preferred.
