nn nn This position reports to the Systems Engineering Section inside of the Advanced Development Programs business unit.

As part of a small, hardworking and accomplished team you will primarily support the Human Landi ng System’s systems engineering team, performing tasks across the stages of the “systems engineering V”.

nn nn As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will perform various functions including those of the Demo Mission Surface Phase Lead.

T he Demo Mission Surface Phase Lead ensures the Descent Element post-landing on the Moon is fully successful.

The phase lead is responsible for all phase-driven design and operational requirements on the mission’s hardware and software.

You will validate requirements decomposition, lead system level analyses, and drive integrated testing.

The Demo surface phase lead proactively involves themself in the design and development of systems that are active during the mission surface phase.

nn nn Responsibilities: nn Act as the Descent Element Demo’s system s point of contact and subject matter expert for the surface phase Manage a cross-organizational surface phase team for mission definition, mission activity decomposition, driving scenario development, testing, and o perations Consult on the design and integration across all spacecraft subsystems to ensure f ull integrat ion , for the phase including surface communications and payload customers Manage risk s and opportunities for the surface phase over the life cycle of the program Conduct trade studies in concert with the impacted domain and program stakeholders, develop the mission’s surface Concept of Operations, and lead validation activities during integration and test Have frequent inter-organizational and customer interactions as a technical point of contact on contracts and projects on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations M entor & train other personnel nn Qualifications:  nn Is a s ubject matter expert for a lunar lander’s surface phase Ability to integrate and coordinate a phase team Ability to lead the mission planning/timeline and activity development, anomaly resolution and change evaluation for the mission’s surface phase Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment Ability to work independently without appreciable direction to determine technical objectives of assignments and develop approaches to solutions Experience regularly providing imaginative and detailed technical solutions to complex problems Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S.

citizen or national, U.S.

permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S.

as a refugee or granted asylum nn Desired (but not required): nn Succ essful candidates usually have 8+ years of applicable experience B.S.
