Bakery & Deli Food Service Worker

Jack’s Country Store is currently hiring a Full Time Bakery & Deli CookFull Time position: 40 hours per week, 2 consecutive mid-week days off, mostly morning shifts.We’re looking for an energetic team member. Daily tasks will include: cooking a variety of meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, creating sandwiches, soups from scratch, and take n’ bake pizzas, as well as salad and snack trays. Maintaining a clean work environment, as well as housekeeping is a daily part of the workplace. Cooler and Freezer time required.Kitchen, restaurant, or retail bakery/deli experience is preferred. Job Purpose:Creates breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals and snacks. Follows all Washington State Health Code rules and regulations.Duties:* Provides food preparation assistance by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits; cleaning, cutting, and grinding meats, poultry, and seafood. * Determines variety and quantity of goods to bake by reviewing production schedule.* Prepares doughs by measuring ingredients; mixing ingredients to form dough; cutting dough into portions; molding dough into loaves or desired shapes.* Prepares doughs for baking by placing shaped dough in greased or floured pans; spreading or sprinkling toppings; allowing dough to rise; inserting pans of raised dough into oven to bake.* Bakes doughs by adjusting drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperature.* Cools baked goods by removing from oven; placing on cooling racks; removing from pans.* Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying ingredients; requisitioning supplies; verifying receipt.* Prepares soups and sauces by stirring and straining.* Breads foods by by dipping food items in crumbs, flour, and batter.* Controls recipes by weighing and measuring designated ingredients.* Provides foodstuffs and utensils for chef by carrying pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator.* Maintains food quality by storing foods in designated areas; minimizing spoilage.* Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by cleaning work areas, equipment and utensils; segregating and removing garbage; steam-cleaning or hosing garbage containers; following sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.* Keeps mixing and baking equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining replacement parts inventory; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading baking publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.* Enhances baking department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Skills/Qualifications:Food Sanitation, Teamwork, Quality Focus, Job Knowledge, Safety Management, Multi-tasking, Dependability, Thoroughness, Supply Management, Equipment Maintenance, Verbal CommunicationMust be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
