This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted July 4, 2021.

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Construction Licensed Journeyman Plumber (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Facility Management at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.The Construction Licensed Journeyman Plumber is responsible for plumbing project installations, project planning and review, cost estimation, and will have over site of plumbing project budget ensuring projects meet budgetary requirements.

Performs maintenance and repairs on hospital piping systems including domestic water systems, building heating systems, medical gas systems, along with associated equipment for those systems such as pumps, backflow preventers, heat exchangers, valves, traps, and fixtures.In this position you will:Provide scope assessments, cost estimates, schedule development, and disruption/outage planning for projects.

Conduct plan and submittal/RFI reviews, subcontractor bidding and coordination, and manages overall project costs within allotted budgets as required.

Able to take direction from plumbing diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and to install all plumbing components efficiently and effectively per code.Install new equipment and components and repairs existing systems and equipment efficiently and effectively per applicable code.Performs tasks successfully as evidenced by work order records and QA observations of supervisory staff.

Provides a high level of expertise in the installation maintenance and repair of plumbing systems and related equipment.

Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.

Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold water lines.Able to read and interpret Schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, shop directives, diagrams, meters, gauges, testing equipment relative to plumbing components and equipment.

Adept at knowledge, use and interpretation of testing equipment.

Provides sketches and dimensions used by drafters to create plans for subcontractor work.Maintains a high level of knowledge and expertise in the plumbing field and continually strives to remain current on industry changes.

Understands the implications of new information on both current and future problem-solving and decision making.Ability to efficiently evaluate and troubleshoot plumbing systems and related equipment.Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:High School Diploma or GEDState of Washington Journeyman Level Plumber’s license requiredBackflow certification required.

(Must obtain within 6 months of employment.10 or more years experience in the construction field reading blue prints, plumbing diagrams, installing plumbing components.

Experience preforming preventive maintenance on all plumbing equipment.Four years journey-level experience as a plumberPreferred qualifications for this position include:Seven (7) years knowledge of plumbing codes in a acute care facilitiesMed gas certificationAbout the First Hill CampusThe 697-bed tertiary-care center on the Swedish/First Hill campus is the flagship of the Swedish health-care system.
