POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager and Maintenance Lead, this position supports the plant facility in all areas of Maintenance; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Performs troubleshooting and diagnoses problems, using blueprints, common hand tools, and electronic test devices.
• Repairs and maintains production equipment including hydraulic machines, electrical machines, mechanical equipment, and hydraulic and electric freight elevators.
• Repairs building and grounds equipment and machinery, including plumbing, electrical, sprinkler systems, and air conditioning and heating equipment.
• Maintains and repairs specialized equipment and machinery.
• Fabricates machine parts, as necessary, to make repairs.
• Obtains necessary supplies from distributor or storeroom.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance such as inspecting belts, checking fluid levels and filters.
• Abides by all safety rules set forth by the company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensues that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Regular attendance is required.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Four-year apprenticeship in a machine shop or technical school specializing in maintenance or shop preferred.
• Ability to operate a gas and arc welder and perform wielding and fabrication.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with peers, customers and superiors.
• Basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license purposes of attending training seminars or purchasing parts.
• Must have ability to operate a forklift, front-end loader, and crane.
• Regular attendance is required
