Boeing Production Engineering (PE), an organization of over 3,000 employees, supports all aspects of Boeing Commercial Airplanes from product conception to customer support.

PE designs, deploys, operates and maintains the production system that enables the build of the airplanes for The Boeing Company.PE is the hub of all activity within Boeing as we coordinate with everyone who has anything to do with the airplane including design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

We also establish common processes, standards and procedures that the company uses to comply with government, regulatory and competitive obligations.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is recruiting early career and mid-level Manufacturing Engineers to support all locations and programs within the Puget Sound area, such as 777X, 787, 747, 767, 737, Tanker programs and more.

In addition, we have several automation / robotics positions available, which support complex and highly automated production system equipment.

Positions may include providing creative solutions for new equipment, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for existing automated systems.

Primary Responsibilities:Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.Leads development and implements manufacturing plans.

Resolves technical problems that would significantly affect performance, cost or schedule.Interfaces with academia, professional associations, partners, other companies, suppliers, integrated product teams and customers to optimize product definition development.Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.Develops and implements cost effective and improved processes for Lean production and tooling methodologies.

As a member of an integrated product team, integrates technical solutions to ensure process and product reliability.Implements Lean principles and technologies.

Improves product development and execution performance.Analyzes design/build concepts, to evaluate a producible design/build definition.

Investigates alternative solutions to meet the producibility requirements.Assesses process capabilities on the product definition at a team level.

Assesses design features for feasibility of manufacturing processes and reviews geometric dimensioning and tolerance for manufacturing capabilities.

Creates a base line for continuous improvement and confirms that design features are compatible with selected manufacturing processes.Assists in providing input to the program plan to ensure that producibility activities and deliverables are incorporated.

Assists in providing resource estimates for producibility functions to the team leader.Calculates the effects of tolerances, locating methods and assembly sequences.

Reviews and confirms that process capabilities match variation analysis requirements.

Evaluates manufacturing data and analyzes change proposals for variation impacts.

Coordinates dimensional requirements across internal team members The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.

§ 120.15 is required.

“US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):Bachelor’s degree or higher in accredited course of study in engineering.Minimum5years of experience working in an engineering discipline Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):5 or more years of experience working in an equipment engineering, tooling engineering, and/or a production environment5or more years of CATIA or equivalent solid modeling experience5 or moreyears ofexperience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systemsExperience in automation and robotics is a plusAbility to learn in a fast paced environmentAbility to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floorBachelor of Science degree in one of the following areas is highly preferred:Aerospace EngineeringCivil EngineeringElectrical EngineeringElectrical Engineering TechnologyIndustrial & Systems EngineeringManufacturing EngineeringManufacturing Engineering TechnologyManufacturing Systems EngineeringMaterial Sciences and EngineeringMechanical EngineeringMechanical Engineering TechnologyMetallurgical and Materials EngineeringPlastics EngineeringPlastics Engineering TechnologyStructural Engineering Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.G.

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
