Job Description Job Summary:We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our rapidly expanding Maintenance team in Ferndale, WA..  The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance procedures on plant equipment. Individuals will have a good working knowledge of the operation/maintenance of shop equipment. Will apply mechanical ability in all aspects of the job while performing daily routine activities.Responsibilities:Perform proper preventive maintenance techniquesResponsible for ensuring equipment is ready for production start-upResponsible for repairs on worn out or damaged equipmentPerform needed equipment modification and fabricationAssist production, sanitation, and other support groups when neededDemonstrate a good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP)Follow all safety rules and practicesPerform work techniques, speeds, and efficiencies at company standardsDevelop and implement maintenance procedures for equipmentDevelop and implement innovations to improve efficiency, safety, up-time and reduce maintenance costsWill lubricate equipment with a thorough understanding of requirements for a variety of devices and applicationsPerform basic welding and cutting of metals both ferrous and non-ferrousPerform all other work as requiredQualifications:High school diploma or GED required1+ years of mechanical manufacturing experience preferred1+ years of maintenance experience preferredMust be able to read and comprehends basic blue-prints and mechanical drawingsMust be able to read and understands test metersMust possess a basic understanding of maintenance and installation of the facility plumbing system, boilers, air compressors, and hydraulic systemBasic knowledge of basic math skills is requiredAbility to read, writes and communicate effectivelyBasic understanding of HACCP and food safety conceptsWork Environment:Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme coldOccasionally exposed to vibrationThe noise level in the environment is moderatePhysical Demands:Frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feelOccasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smellRegularly required to lift up to 10 lbs, frequently required to lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. Relocation assistance provided to the right candidate!
