Maintenance Planner

Lamb Weston Inc

This is a Contract position in West Richland, WA posted November 13, 2020.

Job Description Summary
The Maintenance Planner maximizes operating profit through using planned and corrective maintenance to continuously increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This includes resource scheduling and materials procurement necessary to optimize available plant maintenance resources and scheduled downtimes. This person will work closely with a CMMS system (SAP), inventory control, and purchasing program(s).

Job Description

* Reviewing daily notifications and creating work orders
* Managing work order back logs
* Ordering and kitting parts for planned work
* Writing job plans for corrective maintenance work
* Scheduling daily work
* Confirming daily work has been completed
* Managing equipment records for all equipment
* Establishing and maintaining bills of materials for equipment
* Creating preventive maintenance plans for existing or new equipment
* Optimizing existing maintenance plans for effectiveness
* Establishing spare parts stocks for new equipment and modifying as needs change for existing equipment
* Evaluate maintenance strategies for potential savings i.e. rebuildable parts
* Follow plant safety rules and procedures.
* Participate in all plant safety programs. Perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.
* Must be lock-out/tag-out qualified or able to become lock-out/tag-out qualified.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Qualifications

* Must be able to communicate effectively and understand both verbal and written instructions.
* Must have a basic mechanical aptitude.
* Understands basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
* Must be able to move up and down stairs throughout the shift.
* High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
* Two years of plant maintenance experience.
* One year experience as a planner or related occupation or the equivalent combinations of education and work experience.
* PC experience and skills as well as a basic knowledge of database structure is required.
* Must be lock-out/tag-out qualified or able to become lock-out/tag-out qualified.
* Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, auditors and other groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be proficient in mathematical calculation to the level of basic algebraic equations.

REASONING ABILITY

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
