Job Number: 202010 Department: Clinical Practice and Professional Development Hours: Variable The Nursing Technician position is a role for nursing students, designed to increasetheir clinical skills, judgment and critical thinking whileenrolled ina nursing program.

One to one mentor relationships with a registered nurse will help build confidence in the science and art of nursing.

Nursing students working as Nursing Technicians will be able to connect with Virginia Mason Medical Center, a premier healthcare organization, to assess feasibility of employment post-graduation and will have an opportunity to work alongside members of the healthcare team and move into a Registered Nurse position after graduation.

The Nursing Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, assists patients with activities of daily living, changes dressings, performs urinary catheterization and other treatments and procedures in accordance with formal training received through their nursing degree program.

Qualifications: Current enrollment in a Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science Degree Program Completion of a clinical component required Licensure as a Nursing Technician-Registered by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) required before beginning employment To apply: Complete the online profile and attach your resume Include a cover letter/goal statement identifying the strengths you would bring to the program, how you expect to grow from this experience and your long term nursing goals (please limit to one page).
