Shift Mechanic (Days and Nights)

Amcor Rigid Plastics

This is a Contract position in Tumwater, WA posted November 13, 2020.

Position Overview:

The Shift Mechanic is accountable for maintenance for Blow Mold, Injection, and Facilities during a shift. Repairs and/or improvement on the line(s) as well as any mold changes or work orders assigned. Ensure proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Recommend, plan, repair, modify, make, install and adjust necessary elements following a problem or project, which may have an effect on productivity
Assist in SAP/FMS improvement Work Orders, both generation and completion
Communicate with Production Supervisor while working on repairs
Assist and train production employees on machine conversions or repairs
Ensure cleanliness of all equipment and related areas after repairs
Communicate to Maintenance Manager and Lead on the condition of production equipment and make recommendations for improvement
Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts, recommend potential Min/Max changes to parts inventory needed in SAP
Assist Maintenance Electrician in investigating electrical-related problems
Assist maintenance team with repairs, change overs, and training
Review all machine safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout) and general safety procedures (Fire/Evacuation, Accident Reporting and all aspects of the Safety Contract)
Performs all other tasks as directed

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Three (3) or more years maintenance/mechanical experience or certificate in maintenance
Forklift certified or willingness to obtain certification
Elevated Lift certified or willingness to obtain certification
Ability to organize work, effectively and economically, within the plant’s schedule(s)
Knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics and reading schematics
Basic knowledge in electricity for controls, motors and drives up to 480 volts.
Good troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Must be willing to work any shift
