ATI is seeking a Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Richland, Washington facility. Our Richland Operation specializes in melting Titanium and Titanium Alloys to produce ingots for use in multiple applications in the Aerospace and Medical Markets. Our Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational in order to consistently meet production goals and our customers’ needs. This position works a rotating shift consisting of 12.25 hours daily (overtime paid after 8 hours of each shift). Shifts rotate weekly from days to nights and hours are 5:45 am – 6:00 pm and/or 5:45 pm – 6:00 am. As production ramps up, this schedule will eventually go to the Dupont schedule.
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll perform preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance on a variety of systems/machinery/equipment including vacuum equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling systems, mobile equipment, and overseeing the maintenance of up to 480v powered electrical systems. You will also play a key role in identifying issues, providing corrective actions and implementing process improvements and methods that will increase our efficiencies.
In order to become successful, you’ll have to quickly learn ATI, our manufacturing equipment, processes and products. A successful Maintenance Technician is a master at problem solving, understands the importance of details and accuracy, and is able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Maintenance of machinery/equipment/facilities which will include mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, cooling and up to 480v powered electrical systems
Troubleshoot machinery/equipment/facilities to determine cause of operation problems
Operate Industrial Mobile Equipment including various sizes of forklifts, manlifts, and cranes
Occasionally perform machinery/equipment/facilities installation and removal
Data entry/inventory tracking using a computerized data system, ERP and filling out various paperwork including work orders, safety and purchasing forms
Shop clean up duties including sweeping, organizing, cleaning surfaces, etc.
Read and understand required maintenance policy and procedures as assigned
Maintain and help develop operating and maintenance records, logs and procedures
Use of diagnostic equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes and other test instruments
Interpret electrical schematics, understanding technical manuals, and following written instructions
Perform replacement on diagnosed faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches; and set-up sensing mechanism, utilizing hand tools
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Associates Degree in an engineering / technical discipline (e.g. Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Industrial Systems, etc.
Or in lieu of a degree, at least 2 years of mechanical and/or electrical experience in industrial or manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)
Experience operating Industrial Mobile Equipment (IME), especially forklift, strongly preferred
Experience of working safety practices including Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space
