American Queen Steamboat Company: Reservations Sales Agent- Cruise Consultant

POSITION SUMMARY The Reservation Service Agent is crucial to the success of the business and is responsible for creating an outstanding first impression of the American Queen Steamboat Company, handling incoming calls to the reservations department in a professional, efficient, friendly manner; providing an overview of the company as well as a comprehensive description of our vessels, itineraries, accommodations, and services that will best suit their needs in order to provide amazing guest experiences, increase revenue, and close sales.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Handle incoming calls from potential guests and travel agents while actively listening to identify interests and guide them to an amazing cruise experience* While providing a superior customer experience, handle incoming calls from booked clients and assist with any inquiries they may have* Through occasional outbound call initiatives, follow up on warm leads from prospects that have shown interest in sailing with American Queen Steamboat Company* Sell, cross-sell, and upsell cruise vacations and add-ons* Responsible for keeping accurate records of all reservation transactions* Responsible for keeping accurate, detailed electronic notes upon completion of each transaction* Follow established scripting, standards, and policies during each phone call* Responsible for following all policies and procedures* Ensure behavior and performance supports the company?s mission, vision, values, and operating principles* Solicits feedback and take action to continuously improve success of team* Perform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Education:* High School Diploma or Equivalent RequiredSkills & Abilities:* Experience in cruise sales and management* Hotel and reservations experience helpful* Must have a persuasive sales technique, exceptional customer service, communications skills, and attention to detail* Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels* Work requires willingness to work some evenings and/or weekend.Experience:* At least two years in a sales role* Call Center experience strongly desiredOther:* Must be at least 21 years of age* Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing*Additional requirements may be required depending on the physical needs of the roleEEOAmerican Queen Steamboat Company is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
