BOEING: Senior Systems Engineering Manager

Job DescriptionThe Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works Space is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Manager (Level L), in Tukwila, WA (Puget Sound area).

This position will manage an effort in Tukwila, WA in support of a program run out of BDS in Seal Beach, CA.

Primary Responsibilities: * Implementation of common processes, tools, and methods applied across all program areas to include suppliers.

* Key focus is on vehicle design.

* Responsible for integration of design tools, methods, and procedures across multiple organizations/program locations.

* Manages employees performing engineering activities.

* Leads IPT leads in developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

* Acquires resources for projects and processes.

* Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

* Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

* Manages, develops and motivates employees.

* Frequent customer interaction is required of this position.

* Must be willing to travel 30% to 50%.

This position requires an active US Top Secret Clearance (US Citizenship Required).

(A U.S.

Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Prefer Active US Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Access.

Basic Qualifications Required: * Bachelor”s Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.

* 5+ years of experience on space, launch vehicle, and/or aircraft programs * 5+ years of experience with systems engineering or Integrated Product Team (IPT) on a missile, weapon or defense program.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * Knowledge and prior work in Model-Based Engineering is highly desired.

* 10 years of experience working on spacecraft * Experience leading and managing teams Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
