**For more information about Camp Orkila and its programs, visit us at www.camporkila.org****More about the position:**Team Inclusion is responsible for supporting the Mental, Emotional and Social Health (MESH) needs both campers and staff, with the aim of helping everyone to feel safe, happy and comfortable at camp.Inclusion Specialists are a presence in all areas of camp and will work with campers and staff of all ages, documenting incidents, communicating with parents and guardians and coaching staff to work with campers with additional needs.

Inclusion Specialists perform other duties as assigned.Team Inclusion consists of 3-4 Inclusion Specialists and is overseen by an Assistant Director.

The team also receives clinical supervision from a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and WA State Supervisor.

Supervision hours are available – please inquire about this during interview.Significant work experience* or education in social work, mental health counseling or related fields is required.

Supervises and assists with specific camper supervision.

Ensures that all staff are accounting for campers and safety at all times, especially campers who need extra support.2.

Works closely with unit directors, medical team staff, and cabin counselors providing resources, suggestions, and direct support for campers who need extra attention due to behavior, health (mental and physical), or life circumstance.3.

Communicates directly with parents, guardians, or case workers pro
– and re-actively to gain tips for working with specific campers and to give updates on the campers’ experience.4.

Documents and files reports of suspected child abuse and neglect to Child Protected Services as mandated.5.

Assists as a member of the leadership team with plans, schedules, and facilitates program activities that are developmentally appropriate and which promote camper skill and character development.

Organizes, leads, and assists with facilitation of all-camp special events.6.

Responds to issues related to mental health, self-harm, suicide and abuse.

Respond to immediate safety concerns, such as escalated situations, missing campers or run away campers.7.

Provides extreme behavioral and homesickness support.8.

Documentation of all cases dealt with: maintain several spreadsheets and documents to track trends in camp culture, behavior contracts issued, cases dealt with by InSpecs, talk box comments received, abuse suspicions reported, CPS reports filed.9.

Maintains safety and cleanliness standards.

Takes special note of individual camper/staff health needs or concerns on a daily basis.

Shares cleaning duties with fellow staff.10.

Maintains equipment in sound and safe order.11.

May attend directors meeting and trainings.12.

Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.13.

May live in cabin with campers, and possibly move cabins as necessary to best meet camper and staffing needs.14.

Masters education (or progress towards) in social work, therapy, counseling, mental health or equivalent STRONGLY encouraged.15.**Qualifications**1.

20 years of age or older.2.

Current state approved first aid certification.3.

Current state approved CPR certification.4.

High school graduate or equivalent.5.

One or more years of college preferred.

Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.6.

Ability to participate in activities that involve rigorous physical activity in an outdoor setting, including, but not limited to hiking, boating, camping and swimming.7.

Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
