About Us:
WEST Motor Freight s roots go back for more than 110 years, unlike many of today s truckload carriers that have sprung up due to deregulation in 1980. The founder began hauling freight by horse and wagon in 1907. He started a philosophy of commitment that has become a tradition at WEST. In 1988, that tradition passed to the company s present owner, Albert L. Evans Jr., and his family. The Evans family has a tradition of their own as founders of Evans Delivery Company, which Albert Evans, Sr, started in Pottsville in 1939. Under the leadership of CEO Matthew Bowen Bates, tradition and a strong commitment to customers and employees are the hallmarks of WEST Motor Freight.
