This position is a member of the agile Data Services Team that contributes to the success of WSECU by partnering with business customers to deliver data solutions. As a team member, you will provide technical guidance for internal customers and team members in the areas of database administration, database development, and data integration. The senior database administrator should possess a high degree of knowledge on data engineering and integration, strong communication skills, and Experience in consulting various customers leading them from idea to delivering business value by creating timely and effective data solutions.We are looking for a passionate candidate about technology, learning our business, and working in a collaborative team environment to help contribute to the success of our organization. The Sr. Database Administrator will have an excellent opportunity to contribute to and influence WSECU’s data lifecycle management process and architectures that provide business value by serving our credit union teammates and members.Your day might include:Working as a team player and a high performer in an agile team on the IT Solutions – Data Services TeamBeing passionate about your technical craft and its value proposition for businessLeveraging a strong technical background with complimentary soft skills to partner with IT technical team members, business leaders, and subject matter experts in designing, developing, testing, and deploying data integration solutionsClosely collaborate with data services team to support our enterprise database environment and data solutions as tier three escalation support with on-call availabilityCreating and enhancing operational efficiency by creating data solutions to automate manual processesTroubleshooting and diagnosing complex data solution problems. Owning, tracking, and responding to database related alerts and escalations while working with others to come up with strategic solutions to problemsDeveloping and supporting complex code to support data movement in T-SQL and ANSI-SQLImplementing processes and logic to extract, transform, and load data across one or more data stores from a wide variety of sources (Database, APIs, Flat File, Distributed File Systems) using ETL and software development technologies and toolsSupporting and maintaining existing data integration solutions and works with business to manage future enhancementsProviding problem-solving expertise and complex analysis of data to develop operational integration designsWorking with the Data Services team to develop operational data integration standards to meet best practicesBuilding extensible operational data acquisition and integration solutions to meet business requirements using data/application lifecycle management practices (Source control using Git, Automated builds)What you bring to the team:Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Computer Science or a related field required; related experience may be substituted, year for year for academic achievementMinimum of five years’ experience, including implementing, maintaining and architecting database solutions using Microsoft SQL ServerA growth mindset and discernment when to challenge the status quoStrong command in configuration and tuning, backup and recovery, database security, transaction log management, replication, cluster configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring and tuning, and indexesSolid experience in database development using T-SQL and data integration using SSISSolid understanding of Windows Server in virtual environmentBasic understanding of networking infrastructureBonus Points if you have:Credit union or financial services experienceAgile software development experience preferable ScrumExperience with other object-oriented or procedural programming languagesExperience with monitoring tools (i.e., Spotlight and Solarwinds)Experience with other DevOps or automation toolsExperience with Azure DevOpsExperience with C# and PowerShell,Experience with NoSQL (i.e., MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)Experience with cloud services (Azure)Competitive Pay: $82,888.34 – $124,332.51 annually, dependent on applicable qualificationsPerks: Excellent benefits package; including retirement options and paid leaveWhere we’re located: 330 Union Ave SE, Olympia WA 98501When you’d work: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, with scheduling flexibility required for this full-time, exempt positionIND1Equal Opportunity EmployerWe also proudly support veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces
