Title: Copywriter

Location: Redmond, Washington | REMOTE until restrictions lifted

Duration: 18-month contract

Apex Systems is looking for talented Copywriter to work on an 18 month contract for a AAA Game Studio in Redmond, WA.

Though the work will start out remotely, candidates who are local to the greater Seattle area and are able work from the office in the fall of 2021 will be preferred.


If you are a Copywriter who understands the nuance of different player engagement platforms and approaches your work to fit the medium, we’d like to chat with you!

We’d love to hear your process of crafting content for a social channel and how it might be different from a blog post.

Most important will be that you understand the need to pull certain key messages through in long form and short form.


You will create content for blog posts, newsletters, social media, and email communications to players.

You will work with various internal teams (Social, PR, Media) to craft the best idea possible for the job at hand.

You’re comfortable leading brainstorms and working with cross functional groups.

This Franchise has multiple titles and a dedicated player base who cares about fine details.

You will be excited to become a subject matter expert of the titles and able to write correspondence capturing the intricacies of the games.

We want to hire someone who is able to juggle multiple projects and comfortable managing due dates.

Though this role likely won’t require publishing of content, our Copywriter needs to be mindful of time zones and key dates for announcements.

Basic Qualifications:

Professional experience in both long and short form writing with examples of social media, blog posts and newsletters Hands on creative development for key initiatives across social channels with an eye towards cross-channel integration Demonstrated experience in both long and short form writing Deep understanding of social, digital and new media

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with an advertising agency, enterprise technology company or video game studio An interest in video games An understanding of storytelling and the art of pulling messaging through Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on creative projects

A minimum of 2 years writing, editorial, content marketing, or journalism experience Ability to fully grasp the unique characteristics and subtle nuances of a brand’s voice Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient with MS Office, including PowerPoint and advanced features of Word Able to focus and multitask in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision Able to exercise good independent judgment and discretion Ability to create written content with both mobile and web audiences in mind Strong knowledge of English grammar and usage, and solid proofreading skills A highly motivated, self-starting approach to work with very strong attention to detail
