EHS and Facilities Coordinator

Modern Electron

This is a Full-time position in Bothell, WA posted July 30, 2021.

We are looking for a talented EHS and Facilities Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all required services to ensure that we are equipped with the work environment, space, knowledge, processes, and tools/equipment necessary to safely and efficiently achieve Modern Electron’s business goals and objectives. Experience with adhering to and upholding occupational safety rules and regulations is required for this position, as we work in a dynamic and fast-paced R&D laboratory environment with hazardous materials and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensure all facilities operations are consistent with regulatory requirements and OSHA regulations are upheld
* Participate in safety committee meetings and coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and audit of safety programs, training, compliance plans and initiatives
* Support equipment installs and expansion activities under the direction and supervision of project managers, engineers, and architects
* Coordinate and schedule service for gas deliveries, gas system modifications, general electrical, mechanical, and facilities repairs
* Coordinate facilities operations vendors such as the cleaning crew and security
* Plan and execute light lab space management activities under engineering/R&D supervision
* Set up and reconfigure work benches and desks for project specific needs
* On-call to respond appropriately to all facilities-related emergencies or urgent issues as they arise
* Light maintenance tasks such as basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance
* Troubleshoot and repair test equipment as necessary
* Coordinate proper hazardous waste handling and disposal in conjunction with chemical staff
* Order and maintain sufficient stock of lab supplies and consumables
* Implement and oversee inventory tracking and asset management
* Office equipment management, including IT and audiovisual assets
* Shipping and receiving for domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments
* Event support for special occasions and assist with all after-hour company events
* Build strong relationships with engineering and R&D personnel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* 5+ years of experience managing occupational safety requirements for facilities operations, including electrical, mechanical and gas hazards, electrical lock-out tag-out, chemical safety respiratory protection
* 5+ years of experience in building or facilities management
* Experience with and willingness to complete light facilities maintenance tasks
* Clear written and verbal communication

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* EHS credentials
* Experience managing occupational safety requirements and facilities operations in a natural gas/combustion-related industry
* Experience supporting and coordinating lab expansion activities in a dynamic environment
