Sr Electrical Reliability Engineer – Tacoma, WA

**Electrical Reliability Engineer****Tacoma, WA****Summary Descriptions:**This position is accountable for Reliability Driven Maintenance systems and programs to improve overall equipment effectiveness, institutionalize world-class maintenance skills and procedures, and drive reliability excellence and continuous improvement throughout the Tacoma mill.The Tacoma Mill is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two paper machines, two pulp dryers, CoGen facility, pulp mill, bleach plant, and recycling plant.

Tacoma, WA is located near Downtown Tacoma on Commencement Bay.

This is a unionized facility with approximately 400 employees.**What you need to succeed:**+ Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or higher in Electrical Engineering+ Three or more years related experience and/or training preferably in Pulp and Paper or related industry; or other heavy industrial industry; Power distribution experience is highly desired.+ **How you will impact WestRock:**+ Lead the Mill’s Precision Maintenance Training Program (PMTP) for E&I shop.+ Set and communicate the vision for the program.+ Set expectations and provide direction using SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely).+ Assist E&I supervisor in maintenance planning and completing scheduled work.

This will include helping supervise hourly employees.+ Knowledgeable in NETA standards as pertaining to electrical power distribution equipment+ Lead and supervise electrical power distribution maintenance during annual outages.

This includes primary injection breaker testing of plant’s low voltage power distribution equipment.

This maintenance is performed by outside contractors.+ Gathers and examines basic reliability data from field studies or data base, and correlates the data for analysis using well defined engineering techniques/principles/procedures in order to continuously improve on the PMTP.+ Lead Root Cause Analysis of reliability problems and investigate to determine the reliability required for the particular situation considering the cost limitations for equipment up/down time, repair/replacement costs, weight, size, and availability of materials/equipment.+ Develop corrective actions and track results to successful conclusion.+ Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes.+ Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for defining reliability problems and makes recommendations for improvements.+ Determines the cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.+ Analyze the effects of preventive maintenance on equipment reliability and maintenance costs for evaluation as a basis for equipment design decisions.+ Develop a comprehensive, interdepartmental program to systematically identify, eliminate and prevent problems consistent with Maintenance and Engineering department guidelines and budget constraints.+ Coordinate the development of Electrical Equipment Specifications including but not limited to OEM new and rebuild specifications, alignment specifications, balance specifications, pipe strain specifications, and rebuild shops certification (internal and external).+ Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes.+ Incorporates audit results, shop reports, Root Cause Analysis findings and corrective actions, and emerging technology and techniques in a continuous effort to improve on specifications.+ Propose options that reduce or eliminate maintenance tasks out of existing equipment in your area of responsibility.+ Review all proposed process and process equipment changes in your area of responsibility, and ensure all changes comply with Management of Change (MOC) Process.

No modifications of process systems without an approved and documented management of change}.+ Review all proposed engineering projects in your area of responsibility to ensure inclusion of engineering solutions to maintenance problems, including ways of reducing or eliminating the need for maintenance through equipment replacement or improvement work.+ Provide reliability expertise during design and implementation of new assets.+ Propose options that design maintenance out of new equipment installations or upgrades.+ Develop Electrical Equipment installation and repair documentation that will be returned by craftsmen, reviewed for quality assurance and maintained as a part of the electronic equipment history.+ Assist Reliability Engineers to develop, implement and continuously improve Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) programs in their areas of responsibility.+ Provide technical support to maintenance personnel on equipment repairs, troubleshooting problems and equipment reliability issues.
