FABRICATION SPECIALIST
PayRate: $25.00-$35.00/HR

CorTech is looking to hire a Fabrication Specialist in Mt Vernon, WA.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
• Operates all standard machine tools, including attachments and tooling, with skill, imagination, and minimal supervision
• Understands and operates welding, burning equipment; reads and understands maintenance manuals and drawings
• Troubleshoots and maintains fabrication shop equipment
• Performs bench and layout work, sheet metal work, fabrication (fitting), paint spraying
• Helps design jigs and fixtures. Requires working knowledge of parts and assemblies to assist in the design of jigs, fixtures, and other mechanically related assemblies
• Observes established safety policies/procedures in daily work activity including lift truck, overhead crane, and rigging as well as machine and hand power tools
• Maintains a clean and tidy workplace and employs knowledge of Safety Data Sheets for hazardous chemicals used on the job
Qualifications
• Journeyman level machinist, welder, and fitter with a minimum of three to five years related work experience • Familiar with metals, metallurgy, and plating
• Ability to understand and design mechanical assemblies and fixturing
• Ability to estimate time and materials; read and make mechanical drawing sketches to universal procedures • CNC knowledge/skills and experience with Mastercam CAM software a plus
• Basic computer skills required (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and imaginative according to the shifting demands of different situations • Job is 80% active, 20% sedentary, with 98% indoors and 2% outdoors
• Lift and carry 50 pounds, as well as, push and pull 125 pounds, maneuver heavier objects with a crane • May work at heights (>20 feet) and be able to bend, kneel and stoop
Education
High School diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
