Fire Prevention Warden/Inspector

Job Summary:Requires an associate’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in the safety field or in a related area.Requires knowledge of a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.Desirable to have Fire Protection and Life Safety (Navy Course A-493-0075) or equivalent (32 hrs) and Electrical Safety Standards (Navy Course A-493-033) or equivalent (32 hrs).In addition, examines buildings and conducts research to determine compliance status with OSHA and NFPA standards and recommends fire prevention techniques, as appropriate.Ensures fire compliance codes are being adhered to and documents and tracks deficiencies until corrected.Educates workforce personnel by providing information on fire prevention.Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Performs a variety of complicated tasks.Reports inspection results and trends as well as any significant compliance issues to the NUWC Keyport Fire Warden.A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.Security Clearance Required: Secret.NOTE: This requisition is pending award.
