Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the full-time Fiscal Analyst 2position at the Walla Walla Campus. General Responsibilities:This position reports to the Financial Reporting and Budget Accountant and maintains accounts and records; authorizes and enters fiscal transactions; compiles and prepares periodic fiscal statements and reports; Assists higher-level personnel with summary information and analysis of records and reports; prepare, audit, verify and process final documents such as invoices, general accounting transactions, receipts and reports; assist in the monitoring and review of computer input/output; provides suggestions for development and maintenance of computerized financial management systems; prepare, verify and control input being processed, including responsibility for input; review and verify fiscal reports for accuracy; investigate and correct errors to ensure compliance with established procedures and policies. Essential FunctionsProvide analytical support for budget, accounting, and financial reporting requirements for the college;Maintain the fixed asset system.

Ensure that the college’s general ledgers agree with our fixed assets system and the statewide system; Prepare monthly bank reconciliation;Preparation/review of general accounting transactions (GATS) and a variety of month end schedules.

Preparation of enterprise funds financial statements.

Assist with budget reconciliations.General accounting transaction creation/uploads, reconciling cash reports, process month end journalentries.Self-support reporting, ancillary billings and reconciliations. CompetenciesAble to use independent judgement in the application of the travel rules as set forth in the State Administrative & Accounting Manual (SAAM)This position requires the knowledge and ability to function and communicate in a highly computerized environment, including the input of data and interpretation/analysis of screen displays and hard copy output.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and perform reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy under time constraints.Proven analytical, verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team memberClearly and effectively communicate with individuals and groups within and outside of the organizationWork independently, professionally, and with minimal supervision.Work with a diverse population, preferably in an educational settingAble to use a computerized fiscal accounting system, including data input, review and editing.Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook and 10-Key Desirable QualificationsBachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one to two years of relevant professional experience.

Professional experience may substitute for education.

College may substitute experience for education at its discretionThree years of professional accounting experience.Experience using a computerized fiscal accounting system, including date input, review and editing.Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, Word and Microsoft Outlook.

Terms and Conditions of EmploymentTypical work schedule is Monday –Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

The Summer work schedule is normally adjusted to a 4/10 Monday through Thursday work week.

The incumbent may occasionally be expected to adjust the work schedule to meet business needs.

Occasional travel is required for this position.Work is performed almost exclusively indoors in an office environment.

Exposure to hazards limited to those commonly found in office environments.

Duties require the use of standard office furniture and equipment (e.g.

desk, computer, printer, scanner, telephone, copy machine, etc.).

Frequent contact with staff, students, and the public. Due to COVID-19 employees may be required to work remotely, on-campus and/or be subject to furlough as circumstances require. This classified position is in a bargaining unit for which WPEA Higher Ed is the exclusive representative.

All full-time employees will automatically have 3% of taxable income deferred into the State of Washington Deferred Compensation Program (DCP) unless declined at time of hire.
