Technology is evolving quickly with consumers demanding frictionless experiences more and more.

Were already starting to see the commerce industry being shaped by more seamless and automated payment experiences.

That means a shift in how we authenticate payments.As eBay develops its managed payments technology, we are creating new systems that enable payments.

These applications range from the core payments platform, connections with 3rd party vendors, loyalty, billing, the movement of currency, and the backend seller interface.

This is a unique opportunity to ensure the seller and buyer experience is as seamless as possible.The Head of Payments Platform, reporting to the Vice President of Payments Technology, leads a global team of 100 software engineers building these new capabilities.Responsibilities:Create vision, build and scale the Payments Platform organization.Lead strategy and planning for the engineering roadmap to drive aggressive growth across the payments platform.Define the architecture for a seamless onboarding seller experience globally.Formulate & communicate long-term objectives & expectations, define strategic directionPartner closely with Product Management, Quality and other key stakeholders to deliver a differentiated experience.Establish best practices for software development, including Agile and other lean model development and testing strategies to accelerate time to market.Recruit, develop and mentor world-class engineering talent.Requirements:Twelve or more years of technical management experienceExperience building high-availability, large-scale payments-related systems, in either the financial services or technology industrySolid understanding of computer system fundamentalsDemonstrated ability to attract, coach, develop, and retain senior individual contributor engineersDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively between platform and application organizationsExperience leading distributed teams and creating effective models for working across offices in different countriesInsight into best practices for software development, and experience ensuring high employee engagement with processes as they are rolled outExperience developing streaming data processing/analytics, and/or developing tools for machine learning, preferredFamiliar with Agile/Scrum development methodologyExperience in design patterns, database technologies, service oriented architecture, and micro services, preferredThis website uses cookies to enhance your experience.
