Industrial Engineer III

This is a Full-time position in Redmond, WA posted June 9, 2021.

At client, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated human factors researcher to join our team, whose mission is to discover, evaluate, and optimize the value of XR interaction technologies with a lens of people. We are specifically looking for a candidate with a strong human factors/ergonomics and technical background. Strong candidates will have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with experience executing formal human subjects research including data collection, troubleshooting, statistical analysis, and working with complex technical systems. They will also have experience working both independently and with others to develop and iterate solutions. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Job Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

-Setup and run user study experiments for ergonomics and comfort studies.

-Design mix-method (quantitative and qualitative) studies and run statistical analysis on data.

-Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways

-Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and designers to solve complex problems and evaluate effectiveness of solutions through experiments

 

Minimum Qualifications:

-Master’s degree in engineering, cognitive science, psychology, computer science, or related field.

-2+ years’ experience with the end-to-end research process of planning, recruiting, executing/facilitating, analyzing, and reporting the insights.

-Minimum of 2 years’ experience analyzing data with statistical toolboxes (such as Matlab, Python, R, or equivalent)

-Ability to keep up in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

-Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

-3 years or more experience designing, carrying out, and analyzing data from experiments with humans and sensors.

-Experience with metrics development and evaluation (e.g., surveys, physiological).

-Experience collecting and analyzing self-reported, physiological, and behavioral data.

-Experience with AR/VR technologies.

-Experience focusing on human factors, ergonomics, and/or comfort assessment.

 

Comments for Suppliers:       

-Must be able independently execute experiments , human subjects experiments experience, must be able to collect data from candidates. Prefers ergonomics and comforting experience.

-Team size of 5, subset of 15 people.

-Familiarity with human factors, psychology and experience running studies, formal training, statistical knowledge, ability to use statistical tool software etc.,

-Keywords: human factor, ergonomics, statistical analysis, mixed methods, analyzing planning studies, design studies.
