ZIMMER GUNSUL FRASCA ARCHITECTS LLPMULTIPLE OPENINGSPosition: Intern 5 (Architectural Intern)Location: Seattle, WADuties:Determine procedures for all phases of design and document productionIndependently prepare and/or supervise preparation of architectural plans and renderingsConsult with manufacturers, and evaluate and select materialsDevelop design and technical design solutions for specific areas of projects and ensure design integrity through the Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction PhasesSupervise less experienced staff members to effectively utilize their efforts on projectsPresent solutions in-house and coordinate design intent and documentation with consultantsDemonstrate a working knowledge of the appropriate use of building systems, materials, and technologies, and research alternative systems and materialsDevelop project specificationsReview completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculationsDemonstrate and utilize knowledge of building, planning, and zoning codes as they relate to the project and its designIntegrate building performance goals into design solutions and document performance metricsAssist with general office-wide initiatives and Marketing Department effortsEducation: Five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree (foreign equivalent accepted).andExperience: Eight years’ progressive post bachelor’s experience as an Architectural Intern, Architectural Designer, Architect, Associate Architect, or similar position.Skills/Requirements:8 years’ experience with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.8 years’ experience preparing architectural plans (construction documents, elevations, sections, details) and renderings.4 years’ experience supervising preparation and coordination of architectural plans (construction documents, elevations, sections, details) and renderings.Professional experience (any) with healthcare, mixed use, research / laboratory, educational and commercial projectsProfessional experience (any) with at least one high rise project, or a project over 100,000 SF.Professional experience (any) with energy-efficient design.Submission of resume/ portfolio containing all of the following: A) samples of at least two (2) sets of two photo realistic renderings of healthcare, mixed use, research / laboratory, educational or commercial projects suitable for use by an architectural firm (at least 4 renderings total), and B) Sample Construction Documents (plans, elevations, details and section drawings) for at least four (4) different professional projects.All experience, skills and requirements may be gained concurrently.Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects LLP (ZGF) is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to hiring qualified returning veterans and disabled individuals.
