IT System Administration – Entry (Non-Permanent)

This is a Full-time position in Pasco, WA posted May 24, 2021.

Columbia Basin College (“CBC” or the “College”) seeks an IT System Administration – Entry (Non-Permanent) to backfill various system administration, data management and customer support tasks during the implementation of ctcLink project at CBC.

The Information Services (IS) department supports the mission of the college by managing and maintaining systems critical to student success, including infrastructure and hardware (networking equipment, servers, computer workstations), software (desktop and web applications) and providing technical support to CBC students, faculty and staff.

This position reports to the Assistant Director for System Administration & Development.This position is open until filled.

First consideration will be given to applicants whose complete application has been received by April 5, 2021 @ 11:59 PM Pacific Time.Primary Responsibilities:Perform basic system administration tasks; reset passwords and perform login troubleshooting in Active Directory, Office 365 and related systems; troubleshoot login issues and escalates to higher IT staff if necessary;Assist with account creation, maintenance and administration; assist with account permissions and security roles; troubleshoot permission and license assignment issues;Decommission user accounts and add, manage and reset passwords in Tableau system; Add and maintain friendly URLs/URL rewrites in Internet Information Service (ISS) system;Assist with data management and reporting; Create, maintain and support data reports according to department standards, using SQL Server Reporting Services and Tableau; Work with end users to determine requirements and data elements for reports; Collaborate with Institutional Research (IR) department and assist in maintaining data systems at CBC, including SQL Server jobs, SSIS packages and data interoperability between systems;Write SQL queries to develop reports, fulfill data requests and troubleshoot data issues;Perform customer support for desktop and enterprise applications; Resolve support tickets related to various desktop and enterprise applications used at CBC; Work with end users to identify, troubleshoot and resolve software issues with applications such as Microsoft Office suite, Adobe suite, Zoom, Microsoft Forms and others; escalate tickets to higher IT staff if necessary;Assist with managing and maintenance of the CBC’s Content Management System (CMS); create blank pages on the website for web ambassadors; adds/maintain links on the website header;Provide support for web ambassadors on editing web pages with HTML if WYSIWYG editor is not sufficient for desired result; Create, maintain and update web forms using OU Forms; andPerform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Associate’s degree in IT or related field from an institutionally accredited college or university; One (1) year of IT helpdesk experience; andOne (1) year of experience with MS SQL and Tableau.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field from an institutionally accredited college or university;Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365/Azure AD and PowerShell;Familiarity with CBC enterprise application software and related SQL database systems.To view a complete position description and/or apply, please visit our website at www.columbiabasin.edu/jobs.CBC is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
