Job Description
Summary
The Machinist 1 operates CNC machines to fabricate space and defense parts per engineering specifications and customer supplied drawings.

The Machinist 1 receives on the job training and completes tasks with supervision, and maintains machine shop cleanliness and organization.

Reports to the Machine Shop Manager.
NOTE: This is an entry level position and is currently scheduled for Second Shift (Mon-Thurs 3PM to 1:30AM).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operates CNC machines as directed Performs various machining and shop duties, which may include the following: loading and unloading raw materials/parts into CNC machine or waterjet machine, deburring parts, inspecting in-process parts, assisting with packaging of finished parts, monitoring shop supplies Ensures that machined parts meet customer specifications, drawings and STP files Maintains equipment, shop cleanliness, and tooling inventory Maintains clean machining area, free from scrap/debris Qualifications
Education And Experience
Required Education: High School Diploma Required Experience: Typically possesses 1+ years of relevant shop experience Strong work ethic, communication skills and attention to detail General mechanical aptitude, dexterity and ability to effectively operate shop tools and equipment Physical requirements of this position include: Standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the work day, occasional use of stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds Must be a U.S.
