Material Expediter

Job SummaryThis position performs various duties to facilitate the expedient movement of supplies and material, to include hazardous material, through supply chain channels to final destination and delivery to end users.Essential Responsibilities:+ Coordinate and expedite the flow of material through the supply chain pipeline in accordance with the customer’s priority and required delivery date (RDD).+ Review available data and confer with the Program Manager, 3PL Project Manager (3PL PM), and other program personnel to research and resolve issues and overdue shipments, and to locate and expedite material and shipments.+ Track deliveries and shipments according to requisition priorities, RDDs, and anticipated availability of material; arrange for the redistribution of material from third party logistics (3PL) owned inventories and customer sites to meet customer RDDs and prevent work stoppages.+ Apply knowledge of product and manufacturing processes to ensure adequate purchasing of material to maintain consistent flow of material to the site.+ Compile reports and ad hoc data to provide analyses to management.

Prepare reports and data for management related to the movement, tracking, usage, and ordering/requisitioning of material.+ Track receipt and acceptance of material in databases.

Update receipt and acceptance data, purchase orders, and other information based on research results and required changes.

Examine material received, verify part numbers, and check discrepancies.+ Review and match inventory and invoices, assist with reconciling inventory and invoices.+ Submit discrepancy reports based on research results.+ This position has a rotating shift and will be subject to shift changes, weekend, holiday and overtime work.

Shift work, weekends, mandatory overtime (with proper notice given) and cross-training can be required in order to meet daily/weekly workload requirements.Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.Other Responsibilities:Safety – Amentum enforces a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.

– Each employee must read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.Minimum Requirements+ A High school diploma or GED is required.+ Skilled in use of Microsoft Office products, to include advanced skills in Excel for creating, modifying, and analyzing reports.+ Ability to identify and resolve order and shipment related issues and problems, to include pre-shipment and post-receipt.+ Must possess a valid driver’s license.+ Ability to successfully complete related training mandated by the company and state or federal law.+ Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.+ Must be able to work shifts or weekends if required.+ Must be able to speak, read and write English.+ Must be a U.S.
