– Digital Agriculture University of Nebraska-Lincoln The position of Extension Educator
– Digital Agriculture is being filled at the University of Nebraska in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The successful candidate will be a member of the statewide Water and Integrated Cropping Systems Team, and will provide leadership and develop focused and comprehensive educational programs in the adoption and deployment of digital technologies for management in rainfed and irrigated agricultural production systems.

The person filling this position will collaborate closely with colleagues, state and federal agencies, industry representatives, and crop producers to deliver precision agriculture strategies related to emerging technologies, methodologies, and data management.

Required Qualifications: o Master’s degree must be completed prior to the start date; one degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Mechanization, Agricultural/Biological Engineering, or closely related discipline, with emphasis on strategies and technologies to manage inputs for crop production systems.

o Experience employing current digital management strategies and technologies for crop production.

Preferred Qualifications: o Working knowledge of and experience with the use of precision agriculture technologies and digital agriculture techniques in crop and livestock production.

o Experience teaching in a formal or informal setting.

o Ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information (e.g., publications, presentations, web, and social media).

o Experience working with individuals, coworkers, and teams to accomplish individual and/or group goals, as evidenced by academic, career, and/or community activities.

o Leadership skills as demonstrated by roles in academic, career, and/or community activities.

o Experience in the development and implementation of traditional and innovative program delivery methods (e.g., websites, blogs, Facebook, and Twitter, Pinterest, or other media platforms).
