Operating Room Materials Inventory Specialist – ASC

Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Operating Room Materials Inventory Specialist ASC to join our growing Materials Management team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: Full time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift.

Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: * Three (3) years healthcare materials management and/or purchasing experience required.

Preferred Qualifications: * Associate’s Degree in Business from an accredited educational institution.* 1 year perioperative experience.* Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills.

Duties includ e, but are not limited to, the following: * Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.

* Understand, embrace, and instill Kadlec’s Mission, Vision and Values.

* Act as liaison with Sterile Processing and Operating Room personnel to communicate in-coming and out-going instrumentation/implants and/or equipment to insure needed coverage for upcoming surgeries.

* Coordinate with scheduler, physicians and staff for special requests of equipment or instrumentation as needed.

* Assure all non-stock supplies are re-ordered in a timely manner.

* Work with physicians regarding capital equipment requests.

* Complete requests for contingency funds as needed.

* Communicate with incoming physicians to insure their transitions are as seamless as possible.

* Facilitate the gathering and dissemination of pertinent information related to their transfer to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

* Assist in preparation of material and service budgets.

* Ensure adherence to budget using monthly detail reports as a guide.

* Verify Operating Room invoices for accuracy.

* Investigate any discrepancies and reconciles as necessary.

* Interview sales representative and vendors in conjunction with Materials Management to obtain OR specific information.

* Establish and maintain professional and ethical relationships with vendors.

* Keep informed of new OR products/equipment and shares with physicians and staff.

* Review current charge-master with manager/s and updates as new inventory is introduced.

* Collaborate with nurse manager to evaluate cost-efficiency of billing.

* Review surgical schedule daily to anticipate inventory/billing needs.

* Make regular rounds in surgical suite and of specialty carts to anticipate outdated inventory.

* Ensure inventory is current and rotated.

* Monitor equipment control including maintenance and repair records in collaboration with biomedical engineer.

* Assure compliance with established Federal and State laws and regulations, group purchasing organization requirements and Kadlec’s policies and procedures.

* Operate a variety of office equipment including computers, calculator, facsimile, copier and telephone.

* Use a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.

* Service as a liaison for updating preference cards and maintaining the resource catalog.

* Compile all documents required by the FDA for allograft accreditation.

(These documents are in accordance with AAAHC standards and must be kept current).

* Interface with Risk Management regarding any potential issues that may arise relating to products used as well as procedures performed.

* Adhere to standard policies as outlined in department related to infection control, fire and safety, hazardous chemicals, personnel policies and departmental procedures.

* Attend all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.

* Coordinate with other facilities when items are loaned or sold.

* Complete the billing process with accounting to reconcile that appropriate charges are administered.

* Facilitate as needed for product returns and proper reporting of product failures.

* Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

* Promote effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team.
