Boeing Commercial Airplanes Mechanical Systems Team is looking for a Senior Mechanical System and Design Analysis Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Everett, Washington or Renton, Washington.
This team supports all Boeing models both in development and in airline service. These models include programs such as the 737MAX, 747-8, 767/KC-46A Tanker, 777/777F, 787, the B-52 Engine Replacement, VC-25B Presidential Aircraft, the new generation 777X, and the next, derivative and all-new airplane(s) that are currently in early developmental stages.
A successful candidate must have good communication skills, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, fit well within a team, and be willing to expand into technical areas without prior experience.

Position Responsibilities:
Working within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization to develop, produce, deliver and support customers who fly Boeing airplanes
Enable high aircraft performance while operating in compliance with regulatory (FAA, EASA, etc) requirement
Exercising strong project management skills to independently execute a variety of projects to completion
Utilizing the Boeing Problem Solving Method (BPSM) to investigate the root cause of problems faced both during development and in-service by our customers who use our products
Instigating corrective action plans and driving these to closure in a timely manner
Collaborating with other organizations such as Aerodynamics Performance and Stability & Control, Structures, Flight Deck Crew Operations, Pilots, Electrical Systems, Systems Stress, Customer Services & Airline Customers, Factory and Flight Line Operations, Supply Chain, Airplane Safety and many others
Resolving a variety of issues and improvement programs
Learning about legacy development processes and certification Methods of Compliance while actively helping transition Boeing to leverage Model-Based Engineering (MBE)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology to write requirements, architect/size/validate/verify conceptual systems.
Helping plan and execute developmental and certification testing and design/conduct flight tests
Supporting engine manufacturer certification on their flying test bed vehicles.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a ?U.S. Person? as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. ?U.S. Person? includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
9+ years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in one or more of the areas of controls/mechanical systems/aerodynamics/fluids/thermodynamics/thermal sciences
Experience with Agile project management techniques
Experience with model correlation from wind tunnel and/or flight test data to analysis tools and hands-on wind tunnel testing experience
Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, DESE/Cameo, Matlab/Simulink, Scripting code (Matlab, C++, Fortran), Thermal CFD Tool (ANSYS Fluent, Star CCM+, OpenFOAM or other), SINDA/FLUINT, LEWICE3D, FENDSAP-ICE.
Experience in standard business tools and scripting languages
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
