Senior Paralegal

Law Office of Sophia M. Palmer, PLLC

This is a Full-time position in Tacoma, WA posted June 30, 2021.

**SIGNING BONUS** Established small downtown Tacoma law firm seeking motivated paralegal with at least 5+ years of experience to join our team.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Process incoming cases and set up new matters (e.g., document review and management, scheduling deadlines and follow-ups, etc.).

• Communicate with clients, lawyers, administrative staff and court personnel.

• Assist with drafting and review of legal documents, including pleadings and discovery.

• Proactively monitor case workflow and client file status reports and related deadlines.

• Compile and file documents electronically.

• General administrative support to attorneys.

• Other administrative tasks as needed.

Capabilities and Qualifications required:

• Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.

• Prior experience with litigation processes, including e-filing.

• Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, LINX and Family Soft.

• Strong organizational skills and written proficiency.

• Knowledge of Local Court Rules.

• Effectively interact with personnel, management and administrative support.

• Exercise professional communication skills.

• Ability to work efficiently and interact in a positive manner with clients, attorneys and court staff while in a fast-paced office with multiple deadline.

Other qualifications: At least five years’ experience in a professional office environment, preferably a law firm.

Experienced self-starter who can manage multiple tasks in tandem with very little supervision.

Assess, manage and prioritize daily tasks in a busy environment.

Ability to manage directions from multiple staff, following instructions is a must and must be able to retain information provided.

Outstanding time-management skills.

Ability to observe client confidentiality required.

Experience using Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate at all levels of the office.

Be a problem-solver with the ability to identify problems, offer solutions, and efficiently solve them in a timely manner without assistance.

Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.

Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m.
