Sr Analyst, IT Quality Assurance

This is a Contract position in Bellevue, WA posted March 28, 2021.

The Financial Accuracy and Controls Testing (FACT) team conducts pre-production testing of software development projects with financial implications to ensure transactional end-to-end system functionality, completeness, accuracy, and integrity. This position will lead Financial Accuracy Control Testing (FACT) for new systems and related upgrades to help ensure financial integrity at T-Mobile. This role will support the eight disparate billing systems across T-Mobile and affiliated partners along with the Revenue Accounting Platform, the Device Financing Application (OFSLL), third party payment processing systems and various financial and Back Office applications and projects, new and existing. • At least 18 years of age.• Legally authorized to work in the United States.• High School Diploma or GED.• Pre-employment background screen. 5 to 7 years of working experience in leading back-office, financial systems and reports testing activities using agile methodology Extensive, hands-on experience with data mining and data analysis. Working knowledge of Accounting regulatory standards including GAAP, IFRS and ASC 606. Strong experience in working with SAP Superior organizational and time management skills. Able to handle an extremely fast pace while maintaining the highest quality standards. Strong analytical, technical and problem solving skills as well as ability to communicate clearly. Ability to develop strong working relationships with team members and foster the development of cross-functional teamwork in order to ensure high Strong working knowledge of defect management tools such as Jira Align, Jira and qTest. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint Desired skillset Previous experience in telecom or wireless industry Familiarity with SQL querying language (Microsoft SQL Server and Teradata) Education Minimum Required PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science or related, 7 to 10 years ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related, and 5 to 7 years’ experience Support the eight disparate billing systems across T-Mobile and affiliated partners along with the Revenue Accounting Platform, the Device Financing Application (OFSLL), third party payment processing systems and various financial and Back Office applications and projects, new and existing. Understand system functionalities and downstream financial reporting systems, databases, and data warehousing flows to facilitate testing design. Account for revenue in accordance with company policy, GAAP standards and IFRS 15 and TMO revenue recognition accounting standards including ASC 606. Work with TMO RevAP Business team to perform analysis and develop scripts to test RevAP Work with P&T and 3rd party vendors to ensure test environments meet standards for code validation Collaborate in test requirements, functional specifications, and technical specification reviews. Write business-focused test plans that keep requirements considerations in focus, while managing priorities. Use Jira and Agile Craft to ensure all the scenarios are mapped to the relevant requirements and identify possible gaps that may require a change request Assist in identifying required test data and arrange for the appropriate teams to provide data. Develop test cases, execute test scripts, and document and communicate test results to appropriate parties Validate and review test results for accuracy and completeness of test coverage. Partner with the Back Office business teams to validate test results Use defect tracking systems to communicate defects and status. Manage all defects to resolution Represent Back Office teams on defect triage working sessions Learn new system design and functionalities. Lead, mentor, and train new FACT test resources. Continuously learn and teach others existing and new technologies. Contribute to the development of others through mentoring and in-house workshops and learning sessions. Collaborate with Back Office users to understand Back Office scenarios. Participate in Back Office activities and monitor test progress for FACT team. Follow Back Office processes and procedures to effectively assist others to produce deliverables. Partner with FACT team members to ensure coverage for finance business scenarios. Design new SQL scripts to perform data validation on tables and reports. Produce new scripts to troubleshoot and identify problems or research data in question Requires subject matter expertise in Aptitude Revenue Recognition Engine (RevAP), OFSLL, SAP, PowerBI and Business Objects Requires working knowledge of Service, Device and Supply Chain Accounting. Identify design Gaps, opportunity for process improvement and develop Training Materials. Document and assist with implementation of process improvements.
