WACA has three schools under its umbrella of shared-services model. It operates in partnerships with the Mary M. Knight School District, South Kitsap School District, and Goldendale School District and under contract with Connections Academy to provide its educational program and other services. Connections Academy, a division of Pearson, is accredited by AdvancED.Position Summary:This is a 10 month, full-time position working with Washington Connections Academy. Working from your home office in either Washington, Idaho, or Oregon; State Testing Proctors will manage, organize, and collaborate with the administration team to provide safe, secure and confidential testing environments. This position’s duties will extend beyond test coordination and will also include working with teachers to better analyze data and provide specific training. In addition to testing, the State Testing Coordinator will also be responsible for managing student accountability measures such as short cycle assessments and test prep programs.Test Planning Responsibilities for SBA and WCAS: Plan and secure testing venues with careful consideration of school needs, historical locations, adequate geographical coverage, growth, and budgets; Creation of Connexus System DataViews including registration and participation; Create staffing plan to assign proctors in a fair yet adequate manner, taking into account travel times, assignment and personal needs, teacher strengths, and site needs; Coordinate with SPED and 504 teams to identify students with special setting needs and procure testing venues to meet those needs; Create google documents to share with staff and stakeholders all planning, venue, and proctor information; Create communication plan that includes timely notifications and organizes relevant information to be shared with staff and parents; Create plan to track registration and provide follow up actions to encourage completion; Create testing sections and assign students to sections based on registration, as well as make adjustments throughout spring based on student requests and attendance; Create plan to work with site leads and facilitate their communication with proctors and parents including regular meetings and communications; Plan, purchase, and distribute testing materials including consumable supplies and proctor manuals; Coordinate with POBL support to order needed technology, make distribution plan for sites, and monitor and adjust as needed; Coordinate and initiate contracts with outside school districts to organize testing at local school district upon parent request; Track and address participation issues including parent refusal requests; Generate reports from TIDE to identify accommodations needed, coordinate with SPED and 504 teams to ensure that accommodations are accurate, and plan and communicate implementation with site leads; Coordinate with SPED and 504 teams to track students on Health Plans and insure necessary accommodations are in place at sites; Create google rosters for sites and make adjustments throughout testing window based on participation; Provide school-wide as well as role-specific training covering all aspects of state testing Serve as point of contact to troubleshoot issues during testing as well as gathering feedback from site leads to use for next year; Export data from TIDE and import into Connexus system to provide accurate data Coordinate the return of materials including technology, teacher supplies, and secure testing materialsTest Planning Responsibilities for CoGAT, WA-AIM, ELPA screening, ELPA summative, and AP: Coordinate with respective team members to support their planning of testing events, particularly in the securing of venues and needed technology Oversee and meet regularly with responsible team members to ensure all pieces of their testing plans are being implemented and provide any needed additional supportOther Responsibilities: Teach and support various ELA and math intervention classes (fall) Homeroom duties throughout school year including monitoring of student progress, state reporting requirements, SST and RTI tasks, SYC tasks, and monthly phone call support to students and Learning coaches Monitor and provide guidance and assistance with all student intervention and support programs; Identify areas for improvement in student proficiency areas and provide training and resources to staff to increase test scores in targeted areas Assist with preparation and dissemination of reports to assist leadership and staff in the interpretation of performance data and school/student characteristics; and Other duties as assigned.Requirements: Must reside within the state of Washington, Idaho, or Oregon or willing to relocate to one of these states Must be able to travel to Washington State Highly qualified to teach any grade/ subject in Washington Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience Some operational or logistics experience and/or administrative or management experience Education experience a plus Must be able to effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing. Must be able to accurately compile and interpret data, summarize information, and provide reports to the appropriate administrator/supervisor. Must have the ability to accurately give and receive information via telecommunication system and must be able to communicate successfully with children, parents, staff, school personnel, and outside agencies. Standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, more than 20 pounds is oftentimes required. Must be able to provide own transportation to schools, work locations, and meeting sites. Be able to travel to various locations and move freely within work sites. Must have sufficient visual acuity to be able to work with computer monitors, read and interpret hand-written documents. Be able to provide legible written reports. Must understand and interpret written and verbal instructions. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to maintain accurate records, and plan and implement appropriate educational programs. Have the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines, interruptions, and the ability to deal with other employees in such a way as to maintain their goodwill. Must be able to respond positively to supervision and to accept commendations and recommendations. Demonstrate sensitivity/understanding in interpersonal relations with persons of diverse cultures/backgrounds.
