Cone & Steiner Pioneer Square is Hiring for a Store Lead Position!

Full Time: 25-30 hrs/week Floor Shifts, 8-10 hrs/week Admin; **Please include Cover Letter with Resumé** Cone & Steiner was founded in January 2014 as a fresh, local, unique neighborhood market.

We have two neighborhood stores (Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square) and an online/delivery platform…And we’re growing!

C& S is seeking candidates who are friendly, driven, and dynamic to help build our community-focused stores.

Store Lead Position Description:C& S Store Lead will work with the General Manager to achieve overall Store goals related to consistent and quality product selection (keeping this fresh and on trend as business picks up and evolves), product/inventory quantities, appropriate product mix, and efficient systems for and management of inventory and waste.

The C& S Store Lead is the ‘go-to’ store expert, and often the General Manager’s “eyes and ears” in their absence.

Brief, weekly check-ins will occur with the General Manager, as well as monthly meetings to review inventory, waste, and sales with the Capitol Hill Store Lead, General Manager, and Owner.Responsibilities:Maintain (and revise as necessary) systems and processes related to ordering, stocking, inventory, and wasteCommunicate and coordinate orders and/or systems with other Store Lead (CH) and General ManagerAdhere to budgets and review sales/waste data in order to inform orders and product mixMaintain and support inventory, waste, and loss procedures and trackingthrough POS and supplemental systems/processesAdmin tasks such as taking deposits to/getting change from the bank, scanning invoices to the accounting teamMonitor delivery dates to keep team prepared for deliveries and ensure new products are entered into the POS system Ensure that all purchases/deliveries are received and invoices booked properlyMaintain thorough stocking and pricing procedures and ensure stocking standards are met consistently and efficientlyIdentify proper controls for stock rotation, quality of food offerings, andproper food quality and safety standards Work with General Manager and other Store Lead to drive sales through product mix and sales analysisManage the systems and processes in place for C& S Distribution customers, including receiving orders via spreadsheet, placing orders, picking/packing for distributionMaintain relationships with food vendors and distributors, understanding ordering procedures, product lines and delivery methodsCommunicate clearly and effectively among the C& S Team, vendors, and customers Provide superior customer service in every interaction (customers, vendors, among the team, everyone!), creating a positive experienceall around Learn about our products in all categories, communicate product knowledge to enhance customer experience and salesMaintain signage and visual displays as needed and/or as instructed by Creative Lead or General ManagerMaintain store cleanliness, communicate any maintenance issues to General ManagerQualities and Requirements: 2+ years of Leadership experience that demonstrates time management, initiative, high level of responsibility either in Management, Assistant Management, or related role2+ years of experience in retail and/or food+beverage service industry operations, including ordering and inventory systemsPreferred experience in grocery/specialty food retail Knowledge of product ordering and inventory controlsFamiliarity with sales data and financial reportsMust be self-motivated and take initiative to see what needs to be done and do itStrong time-management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsLove of good food and community + alignment with C& S ValuesHighly motivated, energetic and friendly with a true desire to delight each customerStrong desire to build community among our customers, team, and vendorsMust have current Food Handler’s Permit and MAST Must be able to lift up to 50lbsMust be comfortable with standing/being on your feet for the length of shift/tasksC& S Values, “COBE”:Community: creating a sense of place, a place to connect that is welcoming and friendlyOpportunity: within our company and beyond, we support each person’s goals and seek to create opportunity for growth, to try something new and delicious, to surprise and delight every chance we getBe Good, Do Well: a baseline for making every decision and handling any situation; be good to yourself andto others; do well by our team, our guests, and our vendors; and do well in terms offulfilling and achieving goalsEat a Snack: nourish yourself; fuel yourself to createcommunity, opportunity, and to be good and do well; people come together over good food and drink, let’s break bread together!Contact:Candidates interested in this position should send a resume and cover letterCone & Steiner is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
