Inventory and Supply Chain Specialist II

Lundbeck

This is a Contract position in Bothell, WA posted December 9, 2020.

In October 2019, Lundbeck acquired Alder Biopharmaceuticals, now known as Lundbeck Seattle BioPharmaceuticals (Lu-SBP). The Lu-SBP site is responsible for antibody development and biologics manufacturing in collaboration with the global Lundbeck CMC Biologics organization.

SUMMARY:
Responsible for supporting Lundbeck Seattle’s supply chain and logistics operations, to ensure shipments are sent and received in a timely and optimal manner for the materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain inventory records and support planning and execution of global GMP material movements for pre-commercial development programs
  • Manage external contract storage location(s) as direct point of contact
  • Serve as a liaison between various internal and external partners to ensure the timely delivery of GMP and non-GMP materials to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works closely with partners in Quality Assurance to ensure GMP inventory management compliance
  • Execution of shipment processing and on-site reconciliation
  • Support continuous improvement by developing and implementing creative and effective supply chain/shipping approaches, solutions and proposals
  • Develop and manage standardized practices and protocols, and related requirements for GMP storage facilities, carriers, and Contract Manufacturing sites
  • Coordinate the efficient and on-time movement of temperature-controlled freight to meet internal / external requirements through carrier management, transport route oversight, and development of applicable SOPs
  • Work in collaboration with global logistics & Quality Assurance, responsible for carrier SOPs and CMO work instructions to drive partner performance
  • Manage transport temperature monitoring data collection and deviation management (support root-cause analysis and remediation)
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions for issues encountered in Logistics Operations including inventory management, shipping, cold chain distribution, & accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with internal supply chain, quality, and accounting partners across the organization, as well as external parties in daily maintenance of GMP inventory and shipments.
  • Proactively communicates potential issues and provides options to resolve perceived challenges
  • Track Development and GMP inventory in addition to clinical inventory and report on supply chain performance
  • Support Supply Chain organization globally by providing information as requested

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelors’ degree with 2 years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, logistics, warehouse management, international shipping, etc, or a combination of education and experience totaling 6 years in supply chain, inventory planning, logistics, warehouse management, international shipping, etc
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. Inventory planning, logistics, warehouse management)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Biotechnology related field is preferred
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain, Logistics Coordination, Inventory Management or similar role in Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical environment
  • Familiarity with cold chain shipping validation

TRAVEL

  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally
