UW Compliance and Risk Services provides professional services and thought leadership in substantive and structural compliance, risk financing, risk consulting, and claim and litigation management to all University of Washington academic and administrative units.

Compliance Services provides leadership, guidance and support in policy oversight, institutional reporting, complaint investigation, board and governance support, process and system improvement, and development of training and education.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Systems and Technology Analyst.

Reporting to the Executive Compliance and Risk Officer, with delegation of supervision to Compliance & Risk Services (CRS) Special Projects Director, the Systems and Technology Analyst provides analytical and specialized support for office-wide technology needs and development, and project management and support for goals, initiatives and projects identified by Compliance and Risk Services.
The Systems and Technology Analyst works with the heads of CRS programs and within cross-functional teams to understand, identify, and document business and technology needs, assess alternatives and options, develop operational, business and technology solutions and proposals, and provide needed support and assistance to help ensure the success of CRS programs and projects.

This position’s key responsibilities include technology and data support for CRS programs, assisting with project coordination, project strategy development, research and analysis tasks, ensuring high quality team deliverables and outcomes, development and maintenance of essential data systems and technology solutions, and assistance with the development of metrics and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities
50% Project Management Support

• Provide support to and assist with project coordination, management, and support of CRS programs, particularly with regard to technology components and solutions;

• Function as an integral part of departmental teams to accomplish CRS objectives, support management initiatives and process improvement projects, and participate in relevant institutional initiatives and projects while working proactively and collaboratively to identify technology solutions and resolve technology issues and concerns;

• Provide ongoing project and technical assistance for CRS programs, activities, and initiatives, including the Title IX Education and Prevention program, Riskmaster integration projects, UCIRO investigation tracking and modernization, building risk consulting tracking system and metrics, etc.

• Other project support and assistance as assigned.

30% Technology Services and Support

• Support CRS systems (primarily claim management applications, equipment insurance, website), assist Claims, UCIRO, Risk Financing, and Compliance teams to develop better uses of CRS systems to enhance effectiveness and efficiency; manage technical components of website.

• Assist CRS staff with all technology-related needs (computers/laptops, software, immediate needs, troubleshooting problems); coordinating and/or liaising with UW-IT; provide ongoing technical support and assistance required to effectively conduct all aspects of full hearings whether held remotely or onsite.

10% Information and Data Analysis and Reporting

• Assist CRS staff with complex data manipulation and analysis, such as creating exhibits, Enterprise Data Warehouse extracts and analysis, Workday report analysis, and other reporting needs.

• Manage a wide variety of web and offline content through learning management systems and web content systems (such as Drupal, WordPress)

– Manage Equipment Insurance Program Database (EIS)

• Manage database to software vendor; coordinate projects and upgrades with Risk Financing to improve user experience, reliability and functionality; submit monthly billing.
Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or related field

• Five years of experience in a technology services or systems position or equivalent, to include three years of project management experience involving technology systems

• Ability to use a variety of financial and data analysis tools to produce documents and reports that clearly communicate relevant information to multiple audiences/constituencies

• Proficiency with MS Office, Google, Adobe and other applications, databases, and related automated systems.

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to provide quick response to requests

• Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and the demonstrated attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to establish positive working relationships

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work as needed, effectively manage competing priorities, and accurately complete highly detailed and time sensitive work

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions

• Self-motivated and focused with a demonstrated positive demeanor

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work well with people throughout all levels of an organization

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
Desired:

• Three years of compliance or risk management experience in higher education, government or the public sector previous experience supporting technology and project needs

• Appropriate certifications from relevant professional organizations and societies
