VP, Information Security


This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted December 9, 2020.

We are looking for a recognized Information Security industry leader to join us on this mission as our VP of Information Security.

You will report directly to StockX’s Chief Technology Officer and become part of the Executive Team.

nn nn The successful candidate will be a visionary thinker capable of leading a large, sophisticated global cybersecurity function and interacting with the most senior levels of management, including the Board of Directors.

The candidate will be able to articulate thoughts clearly, plan initiatives, and execute flawlessly with appropriate urgency.

The candidate will demonstrate drive, intelligence, maturity, and energy, and will be a proven change leader.

Given the emphasis on talent development, the candidate will also have a passion for managing and developing people.

The candidate will possess a high degree of business acumen and must have a “real world” perspective in order to effectively interact with the operating leaders across the company.

nn nn Role and Responsibilities: nn Establish and maintain the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected.

Drive implementation forward whilst protecting the business from security threats and cyber-hacking.  Ability to make risk-based business oriented decisions and ability to execute them is also important.

Lead an outstanding team of Information Security professionals (engineers, analysts, architects, and others) Be a trusted adviser for StockX’s executive team on a broad range of topics related to Information Security Provide leadership during times of crises.

Conduct investigation to determine root cause and establish best practices to reduce future risks.  Build partnerships with peers across Product Development, Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and others to accomplish joint projects.  Be a security thought leader in the Cloud and SaaS space.

nn Personal Qualities: nn Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and personal integrity in the exercise of duties, including the ability to professionally address confidential matters.

Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence in the group’s knowledge of, and concerns for, business, legal and regulatory requirements.

Proven experience leading global teams, projects and implementations.

Knowledge of operating in a complex, global environment.

Ability to coach, motivate and develop careers of others within a global team.

nn Technical Qualifications: nn 15 years of hands-on experience in Information Security space spanning network security, application security, cryptography, SDLC security tools/practices, threat management, pentesting, abuse, fraud, security compliance, incident response and governance.

10 years of experience building and growing InfoSec teams including coaching and managing performance 3 years of successful experience building an InfoSec organization for a public software company.

Experience developing, implementing or creating information security systems with a strong understanding of information security regulatory requirements and compliance issues such as GDPR, PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley mandatory.

HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, European Privacy Directive, CCPA.

Basic understanding of how VPN, anti-virus software , intrusion detection , firewalls , and content filtering works.

Strong understanding of endpoint security solutions to include File Integrity Monitoring and Data Loss Prevention Technical understanding of how threats like Spam, Phishing, Bots, DDoS Attacks, Brute Force Attacks, SQL Injections, XSS, Trojan Horses are executed and how to protect our resources from them.

Experience with networks and systems vulnerability scanner(commercial , open-source) Direct experience in penetration testing.

Experience to design approaches to continuously monitor organization’s networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions.

Experience in designing best practices for protecting critical customer data.
