Culinary Director

This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted July 10, 2021.

Location: Pacific Northwest Area Mission Responsible for maintaining and displaying Levy standard steps of service and showcase quality in regards to concessions. Executing “The Levy Difference,” while providing friendly and efficient service to guests and teammates. Major Areas of Responsibility Operations * Understands all menus, product offerings, packaging and pricing * Ensures all security, safety and sanitation standards are in place * Develops and implements preventive maintenance schedule * Has strong attention to detail * Holds team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest service * Ensure that team members consistently deliver Heartfelt Hospitality to every guest, every time * Ensures team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs * Ensures show quality standards are maintained at all times * Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, guests, subcontractors, not-for-profits and Levy team members * Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations * Supports and communicates Company initiatives * Respond and assist in any departmental guest service issues * Acts as a liaison with team, including partner’s operational team, Levy team and other areas as needed to ensure efficient operational performance * Recommends and develops menus, promotions and programs in conjunction with Home Office Concessions Department in accordance with Levy standards * Prepares pre-event memo for concession management and team Provides short- and long-range strategic planning Controls * Thoroughly and accurately uses applicable Levy systems (Purchasing Systems, Point-of-sale, WFM and more) * Ensures that all security, safety and sanitation standards are achieved * Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goals * Achieves assigned budget goals * Employs good safety and sanitation practices * Follows and enforces responsible alcohol service policies * Oversees execution of required daily reporting * Oversees completion of required department reports and compiles month end reporting * Ensures team members adhere to Levy Company guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook * Ensures complete maintenance and on-site training of the current POS system is being performed * Maintains event history, per capita and usage reports for the year * Determines and ensures appropriate staffing levels and inventory levels for all concession events * Reviews all instances of overages and shortages ensuring proper investigation and documentation has taken place * Assists in development of budget to deliver profit and service goals, as well as meeting partner expectations * Oversees control of all inventories, product cost, cash handling and purchasing Team * Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team * Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale * Conducts regular scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management and team members * Interviews, hires, trains and develops team members according to Levy guidelines * Displays a positive attitude towards team members * Mentors department managers to develop their skills and leadership abilities Job Requirements * Able to communicate effectively with management team, guests and team members by speaking and comprehending English * English reading, writing, math and computer skills required * Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products * Stamina to work 60 hours or more per week * Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates * Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts * Possible job hazards include, but are not limited to; slips, trips, falls, burns, cuts and strains * Must be able to reach, lift, stoop, bend and perform extensive standing and walking (including stairs) throughout shift * Ability to use hands in using office equipment, including the computer system * Ability to talk and hear to conduct phone correspondence * Close vision and focus capabilities to view computer screen and company documents Levy is an equal opportunity employer.
