Food Services Worker – Food and Nutrition Services

Description:Providence is calling a Food Services Worker (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to work in the Food and Nutrition Services department at Providence St.

Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.In accordance with assigned position, the Nutrition Food Services employee is responsible for such duties as: washing dishes, silverware, utensils, pots, pans and equipment in accordance with health, safety, and sanitary procedures; retrieving meal trays from patient care units throughout the medical center; cleaning floors and emptying garbage; replenishing floor stock; taking and recording temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dish machine; and maintaining cleanliness of the nursing units’ refrigerators and/or freezers.In this position you will:Participates in the workflow of the Food service Department, performing tasks such as scrapping dirty dishes, loading and unloading dishwasher, cleaning pots and pans, cleaning/sanitizing utensils, catering supplies, tables and work areas.

Cleans patient food tray carts and/or utility carts.

Keeps kitchen/cafeteria orderly and clean.

Sweeps and mops floor.Demonstrates knowledge of kitchen cleaning supplies and equipment uses; cleaning techniques, and practices; and ability to effectively perform cleaning tasks.Applies knowledge of floor care and cleaning products/equipment use, storage, and safety concerns.Demonstrates ability to work with patients, managers and clients of various ages’ groups.Considers patient, manager/client background and work history to effectuate positive work experience/relationship.Responds appropriately according to age related needs and considerations.Qualifications:Required qualification for this position include:Food Service Worker’s permitPreferred qualifications for this position include:High School diploma or equivalent (GED)6 months related experience and/or trainingAbout the hospital you will serve.Providence St.
