Patient Services Representative

Olympic Sports and Spine

This is a Contract position in Graham, WA posted June 11, 2021.

Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS) is looking for a Patient Services Representative who enjoys greeting every patient with a smile and assisting them in whatever their needs may be in our fast paced medical clinic in Graham, WA. OSS is committed to providing quality customer service and care to our patients and being a great employer to our employees. This is a full time position; regular schedule is Monday through Friday between 9:00am to 6pm.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Process all activity related to OSS’s patient services. Patient service functions supported include patient phone calls, scheduling, insurance verification and follow up, maintaining charts, filing, and communication with referral sources. Performs other daily operating functions associated with the front desk position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answer all incoming phone calls, transfer calls and take messages as necessary.

  • Receive incoming patient phone calls.
  • Manage all aspects of patient scheduling.
  • Maintain data entry for all patients to include demographics and insurance information.
  • Collect all necessary information from patient for treatment and billing purposes.
  • Verify insurance, obtain necessary authorizations if required.
  • Fax appropriate paperwork to referral sources.
  • Scanning all necessary documents into patient account.
  • Build and maintain all patient charts.
  • Collect any money owing from patients to include copays, coinsurance and deductibles, supplies and other miscellaneous fees.
  • Maintain statistical log sheets on a daily basis to include all follow up.
  • Pull charts for next day’s appointments and audit.
  • Make reminder calls for all incoming new patients.
  • Close out and balance all money nightly and print associated reports.
  • Work the Patient Issue Listing and task list on a daily basis to resolve all issues.
  • Communicate with OSS staff through Outlook email.
  • Communicate closely with billing and treating staff to resolve any patient issues.

  • Participate in educational activities and attend monthly staff meetings.

Education/Experience:Minimum High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in physical therapy clinic or other medical clinic related position OR Equivalent education/experience.
