Child & Family Therapist – Spokane Valley, WA

POSITION SUMMARY:Provides ongoing clinical and/or case management services to a diverse CHSW consumer population including specialized treatment services in a variety of settings conducts intake, assessment, and diagnosis.

Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Conducts initial consumer screening intake and assessmentAssesses and determines consumer diagnosis/service need and develops treatment/service plans and/or makes appropriate community referralImplements treatment/service plan using a variety of therapeutic/educational interventions in a variety of locations and settingsPerforms treatment/service evaluations and follow-upPerforms routine administrative duties associated with a clinical settingEstablishes and maintains collaborative relationships with appropriate community resourcesAdvocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the CommunityPerforms other duties as assigned by SupervisorKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Understanding of various treatment principles and interventionsKnowledge of child, adolescent, and family developmentProficient in MS OfficeMust possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and communityWORKING ENVIRONMENT:This job is performed in a professional office environment.

business office with computers, printers, phones)Typical office lighting and temperaturesModerate interruptionsAbility to work in a confined areaAbility to sit at a computer for an extended periodLimited travel to other site locations within the statePHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneelSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer workRegular, predictable attendance is requiredReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Social Work or related field is required, plus 2 to 4 years’ clinical practice with children, youth, and families that was gained under the supervision of a mental health professional recognized by the state of WashingtonRequired Agency Affiliated Counselor Credential (obtained after hire)A valid Washington State driver’s license is requiredProof of CPR and First Aid Certification is required within 30 daysA one-step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment.

For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be providedHIV/AIDS and blood borne pathogens training required within 30 daysSuccessful completion of a criminal background checkSuccessful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives consumers.

Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three yearsNote: Must have 1-3 year’s experience to pass licensure exam to progress to Child & Family Therapist (licensed)SALARY RANGE: $42,700 to $46,750/year DOE + BENEFITS + 401K
