About the position:To assist the teacher and cooperate in a supportive role carrying out developmentally appropriate activities. To promote the health, nutrition and education of the children and to attend to their safety and welfare. Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and/or agency policies and procedures.The ideal candidate will have the following:Knowledgeable of early childhood developmentWillingness to learnAbility to work as a team memberPassion to make a differenceOpen-mindedUse effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.Required Education and Experience:Education:Current CDA Associate (CDA) credential or;Be enrolled in a CDA credential program with a professional development plan to obtain a CDA or equivalent State Certificate that will be completed within 2 years of hire or;Have 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education with with professional development plan to obtain an AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education within 2 years of hire or;Have an AA or BA degree in Early Childhood EducationExperience:1 year experience in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education preferred.Work experience and knowledge in curriculums and early childhood development.Preferred Education and Experience:Bilingual/SpanishThe position is 35 hours per week for 37 weeks per year with a starting salary of $13.92 to $14.75 per hour, depending on education.We invite you to apply to be a part of our dynamic team which provides quality educational services to children in Okanogan County and to become part of the OCCDA family.
