Preschool Teacher Washington

This is a Contract position in Tonasket, WA posted June 9, 2021.

Job Purpose:Nurtures children ages 3-5 by developing and providing educational programs; keeping parents informed.This is a part-time position. Typical hours are 8:30 am-12:00 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Monday and Wednesdays could be added in the case of high enrollment. Class size is limited to 15 students. The preschool’s academic year is from September-May, holiday vacations align with the Tonasket School District calendar.Duties:* Stimulates emotional, intellectual, and social growth of children by developing and directing educational programs and activities tailored to assigned class.* Provides safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing facilities; removing known safety hazards.* Encourages children’s participation by providing interactive activities. Focus on a play and discovery-based learning model.* Attends monthly Board meetings. Works with Board of Directors to create curriculum and lesson plans; post schedules and curriculum outlines in the classroom.* Keeps parents informed by posting parent information in the classroom; creating a monthly newsletter to send home, maintaining and sharing records of child’s progress, attendance, and behavior. * Encourages development of children’s self-control by utilizing classroom management and modeling techniques.* Encourages consistency of service by maintaining communications with parents and staff.* Protects families by keeping personal information confidential.* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Skills/Qualifications:Applicants must have a related degree or work experience with young children.Safety Management, Creativity, Teaching, Presentation Skills, Flexibility, Motivating Others, Listening, Verbal Communication, Resolving Conflict, Self-Motivated, Deals with Uncertainty
