After years of effort, Curtis of Iowa, Inc.

was incorporated in 1969.

My mom and dad, Dick and Beverly Frank, worked side-by-side building a wonderful truck line full of GREAT people.

Their trucks hauled mainly swinging meat and contracted with a larger company, Curtis, Inc, of Denver, CO for backhauls.

As time went on they were able to operate completely on their own and changed their name to Midwest Continental, Inc.

Tragedy struck soon after this when mom passed away unexpectedly in 1982 and within 5 years, dad died of a different disease. My two brothers, Dick and Dave, my sister, Barbara, and I were scattered across the United States but had assembled back here temporarily for the last few months of our dad’s illness.

Little did we ever imagine all of us staying and working together for 10 years to continue the dream our parents started. We weathered through some tough times at the beginning of our 2nd generation undertaking.

The efforts of trucking deregulation were hitting at the same time as the loss of the founder and we were getting a crash course in the transportation industry.

We began developing long-lasting relationships with premium ice cream customers, carving us a niche in the frozen food industry.

Somewhere between the laughter and the boxing gloves, the four of us became an even stronger and closer family.

Because of our closeness, we supported Barbara’s desire to eventually return to her chosen field.

We’ve continued to be lucky in surrounding ourselves with the very best of the best people who have added every day to the warmth and efficiency of Midwest Continental, Inc.Dick, Dave, and I still have fun running this company together and find the challenges exciting.

We owe a lot to the priceless Sioux City staff and the first class drivers who stayed with us and helped teach us how to develop what we think is the best place on earth to work!Debi WeaverPresidentAssociated topics: cdl a driver, cdl a driving, class a truck, company driver team, company over the road, company truck, flatbed driver, over the road driver, over the road driving, tanker
