Shuttle Driver – Part Time – Winter Seasonal

Whether you’re looking for seasonal work or the career of a lifetime, join us today to reach your peak.    SUMMARY This is a part-time position operating an 11 passenger transit van during morning and evening scheduled routes, transporting employees to and from Stevens Pass and designated stops. Primary responsibilities include operating the company vehicles and passenger vans in a safe and efficient manner in variable winter weather and road conditions. This position is ideal for an employee hired to work in a Stevens Pass department with a day time work schedule.   QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Clean driving record with the ability to be insured to operate company vehicles Ability to operate a 11 passenger van in variable winter and road conditions Prior driving experience in winter weather conditions is preferable Demonstrated ability to operate an 11 passenger transit van in a safe and efficient manner and proven ability to efficiently assemble and attach winter driving chains Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business   RESPONSIBILITIES Operate 11 passenger transit vans and assigned company vehicles in a safe and timely manner, safely transporting employees along assigned van routes Abide by the speed limit and tire advisory signs; adjust the speed of the van according to conditions; assemble and attach/detach tire chains Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections including; chains, check oil, transmission, coolant, power steering, tire pressure, lights, belt tension, doors May assist with off mountain satellite parking lot shuttle and pickups as needed Collect transit tickets from each rider per trip, complete route reporting and accounting deposits; following established procedures Maintain the cleanliness of the transit vehicles Assist with keeping assigned vehicle(s) fueled and stocked with necessary supplies, including transit ticket driver forms, and drop bags Perform additional tasks as requested by the Parking Manager, the General Manager, and the Senior Management Team Arrive at the scheduled vehicle, alert and ready to drive on time Attain efficiency at chaining the van Memorize assigned schedule routes and follow the scheduled stops accordingly Maintain good communication with Manager and other drivers as to sick/late, route issues, delays, and other issues impacting the consistency or quality of the transit   PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to sit for extended periods of time while operating an 11 passenger company van and other assigned company vehicles in variable and inclement weather and road conditions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, and color vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
