The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.SCOPE OF POSITION: The King County Shelter Supervisor Is responsible for all supervisory responsibilities associated to front desk operations to include: shift scheduling, time cards and payroll preparation, reporting sick and vacation, ensuring staff trainings as assigned, ensures Standard Operating Procedures are followed, coordinates shift adjustments as needed in coordination with the Sheller Programs Director.

This position is under direct supervision of the Shelter Program Manager and cooperates with Program Director and King County Shelter Director.

This position receives daily supervision, with direct consultation available on complex matters.

This position provides administrative support to the Department in addition to leading and assisting with the training and on going support of staff assigned.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:* HS Diploma or GED* Minimum of 1 year experience in public contact / Customer Service* 1 year of relatable supervisory experience* Demonstrates skilled training In basic Trauma Informed Care, Mental Health First Aide and conflict resolution.* Four months successful experience as a Salvation Army Shelter Monitor (or related experience).* Washington State Driver’s License requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:* An ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner* Demonstrates a commitment to the values of equity and inclusion by honoring diverse characteristics and expressions of personal Identity.* Self starter* Team player* Detail oriented* Strong use of the English language In verbal and written communication (Spelling 90% Grammar-85%)* Excellent telephone skills* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure* Customer service mindset* General accounting bookkeeping knowledge* Strong analytical and research skills* Proficient typing skills (60 words per minute)* General knowledge of business protocols* Commitment to keeping client information confidential* Strong knowledge of Community based services* Possesses a valid Washington State Driver’s License, and has the ability to pass The Salvation Army driver requirements* Ability to successfully complete Salvation Army child safety training and pass background/reference check* Ability arid willingness to understand and fully comply with mandatory reporting requirements arid laws pertaining to vulnerable adults arid children.* Documentation of current TB test.* Current CPR and First Aide certification* Completion of Bloodborne Pathogen training within 90 days of employment.* Expert In City homeless prevention and education goals arid objectives* Excellent knowledge and experience In emergency shelter public health and safety protocols* Demonstrates skilled knowledge of Salvation Army Emergency Canteen operationsSOFTWARE RELATED SKILLS:* Microsoft Word and Excel required* Microsoft PowerPoint, helpful* Lotus Notes, helpful* Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* In coordination with Program Manager, responsible for direct supervision and training of Off-Site Shelter staff.* Demonstrates working knowledge of emergency resources.* Assists with the monitoring, evaluation and facilitation of changes in operational and administrative programs to ensure compliance with policy, contractual and regulatory requirements.* Assists as needed In hiring assuring adequate coverage of permanent, temporary and on-call shelter staff.* Attends and participates In all staff meetings.* Conduct regular shelter program staff meetings as needed.* Ability to conduct and oversee direct client services* Provide policy and procedure guidance to subordinate staff* Provide supportive care to residents experiencing personal crisis.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* Ability to sit, walk, stand bend, squat climb, kneel, and twist on an Intermittent or continuous basis.* Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.* Ability to operate telephone.* Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.* Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.Qualified Individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
