Get started!Requisition SummaryPACCAR is seeking a Commodity Manager to join a strong team growing team. In this role one will negotiate and manage all aspects of PACCAR’s relationship with suppliers, including the commercial/contractual requirements with respect to total cost, technology, delivery, customer service, aftermarket support, logistics and quality. Commodity Managers are change agents, focused on delivering the highest value to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesDevelop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality.Investigate, evaluate and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies and logistical opportunities.Negotiate and assure supplier compliance to long-term supply and warranty agreements.Issue formal Requests For Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFI’s, RFP’s, and RFQ’s) and analyze responses to select suppliers that meet or exceed PACCAR requirementsCollaborate with PACCAR operations worldwide to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and commodity strategies.Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels.Travel to supplier locations in order to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies and resolve chronic supply and quality issues.Travel to PACCAR’s operating locations in support of the above activitiesOther responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications & SkillsMinimum 3 years of purchasing, engineering, materials or related experience.Excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Creative, self-motivated, quality and results-driven work ethic.Excellent interpersonal skills required. Negotiations experience a plus.PC skills (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) required.Proven negotiation and demonstrated leadership to accomplish company goals.Project Team participation and/or Project Management experience preferred.Understanding of aluminum and steel stampings and fabricated parts processes a plus.Experience with part purchasing, design, manufacturing, supply chain management and/or commercial truck or automotive experience a plus.EducationBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field required.MBA preferred.Additional Job Board InformationPACCAR is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veteran/Disability.
