with some flexibility Examples of WorkThe Comprehensive Cancer Control Program Manager works in collaboration with a coalition of stakeholders to implement the Nebraska State Cancer Plan according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.

The Program Manager administers the Federal grant through strategic planning, organization, implementation, reporting, and evaluation of all program components; directs and monitors the technical operations, budgets and activities necessary to support the program and subrecipients; and coordinates services with State, local and Federal agencies, health professionals, and service agencies.Qualifications / RequirementsREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in public health, community health, health education, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public administration or related field.

At least one year of experience in an agency organization with responsibility for planning, implementation, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating and marketing a program or service.

PREFERRED: Master’s in Public Health, Public Health Administration or related field.

Two or more years of experience working with State and Federal legislation and administrative regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of program management including planning, organizing, budgeting, and staffing; grant writing, reporting, and administration; the techniques of research, planning and evaluation.

Ability to interpret and apply state and federal laws and standards, agency rules, policies and procedures, and technical narrative material; communicate effectively; effectively interact with program representatives and the public; apply instructions; summarize program and administrative data/statistics into reports; formulate short and long range plans.
